I don't think Spielberg will be shaking in his boots...

Over the past few weeks we have had some great Cascade workshops. The first we had was on New Media, we were put into groups and told to develop an idea into websites with a budget and everything! Now some of you might think this is easy but let me tell you when you have 5 people who are all brilliant and creative it can be hard to decide on an idea however once we did we were on a role! and came up with a great website for the puppetrazzi idea. (picture on left) I won't go into to much detail about the idea but over the next few days we worked on the website and a presentation on the last day, sadly I could not attend as I was filming with Flame but I heard that the feedback was very helpful and encouraging, well done group!

Just two days ago we had another course and this was focused on camera training. We got to spend two days with Christina Fox (www.urbanfox.tv) and Z1 cameras which was one of the most important and enjoyable courses so far for me.

Now I don't think Spielberg will be shaking in his boots as we all have a lot to learn (especially me) but we were taught the essentials for example how to white balance, set up the tripod, focus and record sound with film. Christina also taught us to shoot a sequence and record an interview. This means that all of us have that little extra skill on our CV which I think really helps when looking for jobs!
Hopefully sometime in June we will be going into the edit and piecing our shots together. Exciting! (I'm such a geek)
Think thats about it from me, bye for now!
